Mia Thermopolis returns to San Francisco to finish her final year of high school after a summer of princess duties in Genovia. She wants one last year of being a normal teenager before she must return to Genovia to assume royal duties, but it is a difficult ask because of one thing. She hasn't seen Michael Moscovitz all summer, and worries that despite sharing that dance at the Genovian Independence Day ball, Michael did not get the hint and still doesn't quite understand that she loves him!
