Jeremiah, Belly and Conrad are back together at the beach house. Belly has finished her volleyball camp and they are all getting one last weekend together before school starts. Conrad and Belly are catching up when Conrad reveals that it was Jeremiah who insisted that he admit his feelings to her that night before she went to camp. She gets upset and as soon as Jeremiah enters the room, confronts him about why he would do that. Jeremiah is angry at Conrad for telling Belly, but tries to explain that he had to protect himself from getting hurt again and if Conrad admitting his feelings for Belly would have changed things, he needed to know that. Conrad gets mad at being put in this awkward position and feels like a pawn in their relationship drama and wants no part of it. Secretly Belly still has feelings for Conrad and is heartbroken at how hurt he clearly is.

Belly has followed Conrad to his room as he packs up to head back home. She is trying to explain that she still wants them to stay friends and that she will always care about him. Conrad tells her that she doesn't need to say all this, that he understands they are friends. After unsuccessfully trying to push her away, he starts to question if she really is happy with Jeremiah and if that's what she really wants. She assures him that it is, but he says that doesn't make sense since here she is in his room making sure he's okay when Jeremiah is also clearly hurting. Jeremiah enters the room having overheard that last part and demands that Belly answer the question.

Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah are stuck driving back together after Conrad's car won't start. They agree to keep it civil by avoiding any talk about relationships. But despite the conversation, on the surface, being about silly things like school, summer memories and past antics, the underlying rivalry for Belly's heart is there.
