Jinx has captured Vi and held her hostage over Christmas. Jinx is pretending they're a happy family, but is actually being quite psychotic about it and threatening to blow things up.
2.
It's now New Year's eve and Jinx has rigged her explosives up so that the countdown to midnight is the same as the countdown to Vi being blown up. Jinx has set it up as a game and if Vi passes she can escape.
