Aria Smith was studying in her school library, wishfully thinking of living in the world of her latest read: The Fourth Wing. Perhaps it was her tiredness from many sleepless nights, or the stress due to her upcoming finals, but within seconds, Aria's head dropped down on the table. She wakes up to the bright sun, her body laying on a large field of grass. A massive stone tower looms above her, almost as if it's moments from toppling on her. She slowly gets up, looking around to see a young girl walking up to her. She introduces herself as Violet Sorrengail, and asks Aria why she's laying on the ground when they're meant to be lining up to cross the Parapet. Aria introduces herself, explaining that she doesn't know how she got there. Eventually they make their way to line up, meeting another girl, who introduces herself to Aria and Violet as Rhiannon Mathias. Aria finally realizes what's happening, and internally decides to stick with Violet and Rhiannon.

She questions her place in this world, but with a deep breath and a determined step forward, she prepares to cross the parapet.
