History

Alina Rana’s lineage is marked by duty and a fractured history that weighs heavily on her shoulders. Born into the Rana family, Alina is a descendant of Raghav Rana, a figure historically remembered as the "companion" to the Devraj's family’s warrior. According to the prophecy that binds the two families, each generation produces a warrior and their destined companion—a pair whose collaboration is essential to confront and ultimately break the curse that has plagued their bloodlines for centuries. The Rana family’s role has always been one of guidance and support. However, this delicate partnership was irreparably damaged during the time of Raghav Rana and Dhruv Devraj, Alina and Mira’s great-great-great-grandfathers. Devraj’s failure to rise to the challenge was compounded by a breakdown in trust between the two families. Accusations of betrayal and cowardice followed, fracturing the alliance and leaving the curse unresolved. Since then, mistrust and resentment have defined the relationship between the Ranas and the Devrajs. Both families have suffered repeated losses, their inability to work together ensuring that the curse remains unbroken. Alina grew up in the shadow of this fractured legacy. Her grandfather, Raghav Rana, was a stoic man who spoke little of the prophecy but made his disdain for the Devraj family clear; raising Alina to view the Devraj's with suspicion and to see their failures as the reason for her own family’s suffering.
