Vargani, The Outlaw

Vargani is a misunderstood orc who grew up having to scam and steal in order to survive. He’s since learned to use his skills to find his own sense of justice against forces of evil and oppression. He is usually on the run.

History

Vargani was kicked out of his orc tribe when he was very young after he stood up to the tribe leader and refused to raid a village his human friend lived in. He was shocked that his family so easily pushed him out and didn’t defend him. The human villages refused to help him as they were scared by him and wanted nothing to do with him. He spent much of his young years trying to survive on his own. He got good at stealing and sneaking around. He spent some time with other thieves and vagrants but often found them untrustworthy and learned the hard way how much everyone used each other. He learned these tricks as well in order to find food and shelter, but kept moving from one place to the next to avoid getting caught. Over time he became a known outlaw as his skills and missions became more elaborate. He took a particular interest in stealing from those he deemed most despicable: the ultra rich and powerful whom he saw as the worst thieves and criminals for what they did to exploit the everyday people. He had to learn how to operate in the shadows effectively. He even grew to trust and respect a few who operated with a similar sense of justice to him.

 

Alignment

He is naturally chaotic neutral, focused mostly on doing what he needs to for his own survival, but has more recently been shifting his approach to be more chaotic good as he attempts to help others less fortunate.

 

Personality

Vargani is pragmatic and gruff. He struggles to get close to anyone, having a strong distrust in others but when he does get close to someone he is incredibly loyal. He comes off as aloof and cynical but he is incredibly good at reading a situation. He notices everything and is always able to identify opportunities to his advantage. He has a strong sense of justice and is angered by seeing those with power misusing it. Overall he distrusts all authority as he has mostly seen it used as a tool to abuse and exploit.
