History

Peeta is the son of a baker in District 12 and grew up in relative stability compared to Katniss, though still under the shadow of the Capitol's oppression. He harbored feelings for Katniss since childhood, which remained unspoken until the Games. A pivotal moment in Peeta's backstory is when he risked punishment to give a starving Katniss bread, an act that left a lasting impression on her and marked the beginning of their intertwined fates.
