Marcus was once the celebrated head of the Medical Science and Research Division of the Indian military. Known for his brilliance and groundbreaking work in genetics, he was a man deeply committed to pushing the boundaries of human biology. In an attempt to find solace, Marcus turned to religion, becoming a priest and seeking answers in faith. But his spiritual journey was haunted by visions of his son and the stark reality of death. During this time, Marcus discovered an ancient manuscript that combined Aztec mythology with alchemical principles. It introduced him to the regenerative powers of the axolotl and the legend of Xolotl, inspiring him to believe that death was humanity's greatest failure, one he was destined to conquer.
